A downloadable game for Windows

HexaWars is a turn-based tactical strategy game played on a hexagonal battlefield with fog of war and simultaneous turn resolution.

At the beginning of a match, players choose the units they want to bring into battle. The game then enters the Planning Phase, where each player gives commands to their units.

When all players finish planning, the match switches to the Execute Phase. During this phase, all units carry out their assigned commands at the same time — moving, attacking, defending, using special abilities, and reacting to what happens on the battlefield.

This simultaneous execution system makes planning especially important: you are not only choosing what your units should do, but also trying to predict what your opponent is going to do next.

The game is primarily designed for online multiplayer, but the current version also includes an AI Bot, so you can practice, experiment with different units, and play without another human player.

Game Objective

There are currently two ways to win a match:

  • Be the first player to reach 100 points
  • Destroy all enemy units

Points are earned by capturing control points on the map.

To capture a point, you need to move a unit onto it and hold the position for several turns. A single unit normally needs to remain on the point for 3 turns. Bringing a second unit speeds up the capture by one turn.

This creates an additional layer of strategy: controlling important positions on the map can be just as important as destroying enemy units.

Additional map objectives and game modes may be added in future versions.

Current Status

HexaWars is still in active development.

The current public build already supports multiplayer matches, AI opponents, multiple unit types, fog of war, simultaneous command execution, control-point objectives, and several playable maps.

Balance, visuals, maps, units, AI behavior, interface, and gameplay systems will continue to evolve as development progresses.
